On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the Institute of Geography of the Slovak Academy of Sciences and the 30th anniversary of the Cartographic Society of the Slovak Republic, a special popularization publication devoted to the Children’s World Map Competition was published.
The publication presents all the artworks representing Slovakia in the International Barbara Petchenik Children’s Map Competition, organized by the International Cartographic Association (ICA) over the past 30 years. So far, the most significant successes have been achieved by Slovak children’s drawings at ICA conferences in Cologne in 1993, Barcelona in 1995, Beijing in 2001, Tokyo in 2019, Florence in 2021 and Cape Town in 2023.
