Our colleagues from the Institute of Geography of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, under the leadership of Martin Šveda, have published the second edition of the atlas of suburbanization of Bratislava.
The revised monograph presents a set of 50 maps and charts that depict one of the most dynamic processes in the modern history of Slovakia: suburbanization. This process refers to the population and economic expansion of the suburbs of large cities. Whether these sentences do not tell you anything, or you have heard everything about the sprawl of Bratislava, do not hesitate to come and see the informal book launch, together with a discussion with the authors, at the Artforum in Bratislava on Monday, 27 May at 18:00. The guests of the debate will be the chief architect of Bratislava J. Šujan and the chief strategist of the city Ján Mazúr.
The book is also available in the publisher’s e-shop: https://obchod.dennikn.sk/show/1686/cesta-z-mesta
The Department of Regional Geography and Regional Development of the Faculty of Science of Comenius University in Bratislava has collaborated on the publication.
