My research primarily focuses on the fluvial geomorphology with particular interest in the morphological evolution of gravel-bed rivers, especially those exhibiting a braided-wandering channel pattern. I deal with the behaviour and response of river systems to extreme floods, examine ongoing processes and the causes of morphological changes in the river channel, and address issues related to their management. I investigate the natural and anthropogenic drivers of channel dynamics, incision processes, sediment transport, and the role of riparian vegetation in the functioning of the river corridor. My professional mission lies in linking scientific research with policy
and practice, particularly in sustainable river management and landscape conservation.
